Fuck

LJ is pissing me off. I just added a huge post to my previous one and LJ lost it.

FUCKERS. As if I don't have enough pissing me off right now.

The Grocery Game

I had ordered some coupons online from Coupon Master to try it out. I only ordered coupons of stuff we really do use and like, rather than just buy something just because I have a coupon for it. I got them in the mail the other day.

So last night I am pouring over the weekly ads for the supermarkets around me: Giant, Safeway and Weis. I wanted to be sure to only buy what we need/use wherever it was on sale.

I ended up paying pretty much what I would have paid on a normal shopping trip, but I ended up getting a crapload more stuff: =)

WEIS:

7 Boxes Campbell's Supper Bakes
8 Instant Cup of Noodle Soups
1 box angel hair pasta
1 box oven-ready lasagna noodles
4 cans Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup
2 blocks of cheese (montery jack & cheddar)
2 Pillsbury Crescent Roll packages
SUBTOTAL: $39.36
CLUB CARD SAVINGS: $11.72
COUPON SAVINGS: $8.10
TOTAL PAID: $19.52

SAFEWAY:

2 Boxes Hamburger Helper
2 Boxes Life Cereal
6 Cans Campbell's Mega Noodle Soups
SUBTOTAL: $22.20
CLUB CARD SAVINGS: $8.21
COUPON SAVINGS: $4.40
TOTAL PAID: $9.59

GIANT:

(italics means it wasn't on sale)

1 box Entemann's Donuts
1 loaf of bread
1 large bottle of International Delight Coffee Creamer
3 Pillsbury Grands Bisquits packages
1 package garden vegetable cream cheese
2 Edy's Ice Cream
3 boxes Eggo Waffles
3 boxes Betty Crocker Potatoes
3 boxes of Cereal (Cookie Crisp, Cocoa Puffs & Cinnamon Toast Crunch)
2 boxes Kraft Mac & Cheese
4 2-bottle Liters of Pepsi Soda
2 packages of Oreo Cookies
3 cans spaghetti-o's
1 pack of women's disposable razors
1 pack of men's disaposable razors
3 packages of ground beef
1 pacage of roast beef sandwich meat
1 package precooked bacon
2 packages skinless boneless turkey breasts
2 packages skinless boneless chicken breasts
1 package sweet italian sausage
1 bag of baby carrots

1 container of cut pineapple
SUBTOTAL: $142.42
CLUB CARD SAVINGS: $32.68
COUPON SAVINGS: $5.30
TOTAL PAID: $104.96

Wow. I'm surprised the club card savings were the biggest savings. Another thing I didn't think of when I left the house was that these stores double the face value of the coupons over .50 cents. So an item I have a .50 cent coupon for I got a dollar off of. It really adds up!

$203.98 worth of groceries;
$157.37 would have been spent if I did not use coupons and only club cards;
$134.09 is what I actually paid. I saved $69.89.

And to think I would have paid this in a normal shopping trip but I wouldn't have 10 cans of soups (the boys LOVE chicken noodle soups so they are nice to have on hand) and I never buy 5 boxes of cereal at once, usually just one or two, and I never buy 7 boxes of Supper Bakes, maybe just one or two, and just a box of potatoes and I would never buy that many Pillsbury packages (the boys LOVE to make animal shapes out of the dough and decorate with chocolate chips and then bake them!) So it's definitely nothing that will sit around wasted, it's definitely stuff that we will use and eat, and it's definitely stuff that will last us a little while.

Our cabinets are FULLY stocked! It looks so neat. The cans are in rows filling up our cabinet, and on top of the cans I stuck the cup o-noodle's soups up there (those are for my lunch at work and stuff) and the boxes of Supper Bakes, Potatoes, Hamburger Helper Meals, pastas, etc. filled the other cabinet I absolutely cannot put anything else in there. The boxes of cereals and packages of Oreos and the candy I had bought last week are all piled on top of the fridge.

I really need to work on my stockpiling though, hopefully this week I can do it. We'll see, depends on the money situation.

Handbags (again)

The two times Debbie and I went to the Coach outlet I walked out empty-handed. Hard to believe. Anyhow, they had these date books and I was contemplating getting one...the second time I went back I didn't get it.

But now I hear it calling my name....

Handbags

I have been practically obsessed with handbags here lately. Specifically Dooney & Bourke and Coach. I do not know why. I was chatting with my friend Debbie last night about purses. Imagine this: we live literally across the street from each other. We are on the phone with each other, both watching Dooney & Bourke hour on QVC and oohing and ahhing and giving our opinions on the bags.

Right now I'm using my D&B IT bag. I need a wallet to match it. I need to wallet to match the bag. All my bags. NEED I sent Rob my wishlist: wallet, umbrella, wristlet, all the same. I don't know why I want it to be the same pattern. That's probably boring.

I want that black Coach purse, too. I changed the desktop wallpaper on the laptop and it's the Coach purse I want and it takes up the entire screen. I thought it was funny. I need Rob to familiarize himself with what I want specifically so on the off-chance he will buy it for me, he will select the right one. :-D

When the hell did I get so materialistic? I used to be so happy with Goodwill finds and I used to love digging through thrift stores and second hand stores. *sigh*

Prickles the HedgeHog

Austin's class has two hedgehogs: Prickles and Missy. We are "babysitting" Prickles for the three day weekend. He's really cute. Here are some pics:

D'oh!

I worked for hours to get the layout I'm using to work...

and I JUST NOW noticed they misspelled "addictions".

*sigh*

I'm pissed right now b/c I wanted to go online to change my addresses to three of my credit card bills because I had them going to work (when I moved out, I just had stuff sent to work). For the life of me, I cannot remember my user ID. I wrote the passwords down, but I can't figure out my user name, dammit!

DANE COOK

Am I the only person that doesn't find this man funny?
